AIEJI project about social educational work with unaccompanied refugee minor asylum seekers


As written about in the latest News letters, the AIEJI project work about social educational work with refugee minors has been in process. The project has now finished and you can find the report here Refugee minor asylum seekers

Members from 16 AIEJI countries have countributed with national information about the target group. 11 social educators from Italy, Israel, Spain and Denmark, working with this group, have been interviewed. 7 unaccompanied refugee minors have been interviewed in Italy and Denmark.

The report contains both empirical and theoretical studies and ends up by giving important messages about 1) social educational work that benefits the unaccompanied refugee minor asylum seekers 2) political priorities every country are obliged to work for and implement due to UN conventions.

A first presentation of the report took place in Helsinki in Finland at the Nordic Conference “Courage in social work” Friday 12th of June: – workshop 31.

Please do what you can to spread knowledge about the issue by refering to the report in the fora and network you attend. The unaccompanied refugee minors are so very much in need for all the professional alertness they can get.
